  Architectural Drawing by Keith LaCour
In 1901 William Sherman Cook purchased property to build a house on. The
original tract of land was 10 acres and sold for $1,700. J. D. Bragg built the
house in 1904. The design of the house was based on a home Cook visited in
San Francisco. The 2.5 story brick house has an octagonal corner turret under
  a bellcast roof.
The Cook House was placed on the Historical Register of
Historic Homes in 1979 and is the only example of Queen
  Anne Revival architectural in Alexandria.
Turn-Of-The-Century Houses, by George F. Barber & Co.,
features a drawing of the Cook House with floor plans.
